Occupy Broadway…started 6pm 12/2, goes to 6pm Sat 12/3

Some photos at Flickr: here.

Lots of fun. There will be puppets! And, some famous acts like Yes Men are up. (Already performed were Penny Arcade, Reno, and Reverend Billy).

The occupiers are at 50th and Broadway. You have to look for the huddle to find them. Some clowns, and corporate zombies, and cool signs among the crowd. Oh! And, The People’s Library, hanging out on a bench nearby.

(And, somewhere else on Broadway, you may find Pulse drum circle.)

Here is a link to the full schedule of acts from now until 6pm Saturday: schedule here

Occupy Long Island: Nov 17th AND Nov 25th (Black Friday)

See the bottom of this post for the BLACK FRIDAY, November 25, 2011 Occupy Long Island event.

Occupy Wall Street will be celebrating #N17 /  November 17, 2011 with activities throughout the day. The big event is at Foley Square at 5pm.

At 5 pm, tens of thousands of people will gather at Foley Square (just across from City Hall) in solidarity with laborers demanding jobs to rebuild this country’s infrastructure and economy. A gospel choir and a marching band will also be performing.

Afterwards we will march to our bridges. Let’s make it as musical a march as possible – bring your songs, your voice, your spirit! Our “Musical” on the bridge will culminate in a festival of light as we mark the two-month anniversary of the #occupy movement, and our commitment to shining light into our broken economic and political system.

More info about the NYC events: here.

Many Long Islanders are interested in joining in this big day, especially after the unfair eviction and attack on the Liberty Square camp early Wednesday morning.

A good way to connect with people is at the “Occupy Long Island” FaceBook: here.

There is also a FaceBook Event for Long Islanders meeting at Penn Station: here. Please use this to spread the word!

Here is the overall plan for Long Islanders to gather together and join Occupy Wall Street at Foley Square: Continue reading

On Bank Transfer Day, November 5, 2011, at 2pm in NYC, Occupy Wall Street marchers are going to make a stand against big banks, and a current political maneuver which may grant megabanks immunity for “robo-signing” foreclosure fraud.

Celebrate Bank Transfer Day on Long Island

Bank Transfer Day, November 5th, is on a Saturday. So, if you can get yourself into the city, to gather with the masses at Occupy Wall Street who support this, please do. Though, if you want to stay closer to home, there are also Long Island events. My favorite one is the occupation in Patchogue. -Kimberly Wilder
